About Lehumo Africa

Building a legacy of wealth through responsible exploration and strategic development.

Purpose and Value

Lehumo is dedicated to securing a lasting legacy for future generations by actively participating in a campaign to bolster the South African economy through the creation of employment opportunities and the responsible extraction and beneficiation of the nation’s abundant mineral resources.

About

Established in 2005, the Lehumo Africa Group commenced its journey with the founding of Lehumo Africa Investments (Pty) Ltd. The company’s founding directors, Charles Boyes (Chief Executive Officer and Director) and Nkopane Abiott Senoamadi (Chief Strategy and Liaison Officer and Director), continue to lead the growth and strategic direction of the Lehumo Africa Group with pride.

Capitalizing on the evolving landscape of South African legislation concerning mineral rights in 2005, subsidiaries within the Group seized the opportunity to apply for prospecting rights across various provinces, targeting a diverse range of minerals including coal, anthracite, iron-ore, ilmenite, titanium, chrome, and vanadium.

Subsequently, several rights for mineral exploration and extraction were awarded to subsidiaries within the Lehumo Africa Group, spanning provinces such as Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, and the North West Province. In 2013, the Group established an in-house mining company, initially focusing on coal and anthracite opportunities within its portfolio. Expanding its mining activities further, in 2019, the Group ventured into its first large-scale ilmenite/magnetite/vanadium mine in Limpopo.

Presently, the group is actively pursuing the acquisition of additional mining and prospecting rights, particularly in heavy minerals.
